I got a fever, and the only prescription, is more Deadpool!
Yep, the world has Deadpool fever. After a gigantic opening weekend, and strong critical reception, the Merc with a Mouth has finally taken the world by storm.
However, while Deadpool may have conquered the big screen, it looks his next conquest is the small screen, as fans are trying to get him to host Saturday Night Live.
Deadpool fan Andrew Stege has created a change.org petition (link also below) to have the “Testicle with Teeth” host an upcoming episode of SNL.
It would mean the world to him
Stege explains that he has not watched SNL in years, as he “hasn’t haven’t been able to stomach an entire episode, but having Deadpool host, star, and be all over the episode would get the DVR set so I can watch it again and again!!!”
Honestly, we couldn’t agree more.
Fans have petitioned for SNL hosts before (including Betty White, who just so happens to be a huge Deadpool fan herself), but never has a fictional character been a viable contender, as the petition currently has over 39,000 signatures.
Even if it’s just Ryan Reynolds in costume for a sketch or two, we’re all for this idea; in fact, the entire Geek Outpost staff has signed the petition, and we encourage you all to do the same.
