Dom Toretto is back, and this time, somehow, the stakes are higher than ever and this could possibly be the end. Ride or die. Who are we kidding? This franchise is going to last forever.
Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most.
Toretto’s crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena, next year’s The Suicide Squad). –The Fast Saga YouTube
The Fast Saga’s 9th film (10th if you count Hobbs and Shaw), sees Justin Lin returning as director. Lin, who took on Toky Drift, 4, 5, and 6, is probably the one most responsible for turning this franchise away from a street racing series and into an action-packed global espionage franchise with super soldiers, war, spy stuff, and… it really is hard not to laugh out loud when thinking about how much this franchise changed over the years. Who would have ever thought? And somehow Han is alive? Gotta admit, we loved Sung Kang probably the most, besides Paul Walker.
Also, did you guys catch that Lucas Black is back, too?! We haven’t seen Sean Boswell since his minor cameo in Furious 7! This is gonna be good! You can see him appear at precisely 2m16s in the trailer.
F9 stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, Lucas Black, Cardi B, and newcomer John Cena. Like, whoa.
