FIFA 15 To Get Multiple Covers

EA released the covers for FIFA 15 for Xbox One and Playstation 4, and you don’t have to be a fan of international soccer to notice one major difference between the two. The North American versions will feature American star Clint Dempsey with Lionel Messi, but Dempsey will be shown with a different jersey for each cover.

Dempsey plays for Seattle Sounders FC of the American MLS, whose jerseys are sponsored by Microsoft and display a prominent “XBOX” logo across the chest. Figuring Sony wouldn’t care too much for the Microsoft promotion on their version of the game, Dempsey will be shown wearing the jersey of the United States Men’s National Team.

This isn’t the first time there have been problems with cover players and the jerseys they are wearing. A version of Madden showed Brett Favre in his Minnesota Vikings jersey not very long before he signed with the New York Jets for that season. Just last year, Gareth Bale was to be featured on the FIFA 14 cover wearing his Tottenham Hotspur jersey just a few days before he moved to Real Madrid.

FIFA 15 will be released on September 23.
