[dropcap size=small]D[/dropcap]ragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu no F, known as ‘Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F‘ in English, is a soon-to-be-released sequel to the 2013 film, Battle of Gods. The Resurrection of ‘F in the title, alludes to Frieza’s return after being wished back to life via the Dragon Balls by remnants of his army, two dopey looking henchman by the name of Sorbet and Tagoma, with the former looking to seek revenge on the last remaining Saiyans. The story will once again feature Bills and Whis, the primary antagonists turned allies from Battle of Gods, in a plot likely to expand upon the Super Saiyan God and the remaining Gods within the Dragon Ball Universe. Rumors have even suggested that Frieza may achieve God status himself, though this has yet to be confirmed at this time.

After the massive success from Battle of Gods (released in 2014 in North American theaters), the announcement of a follow-up was near immediate thanks to information provided by multiple news sources, primarily V Jump Magazine. Though the Resurrection of F (“Revival” of F depending on the translation source) is set to release April 18 of this year in Japan, it may be a while until an English version is released. It was nearly a year until FUNimation dubbed Battle of Gods in English for their limited release in August 2014. However, fans may not have to wait long for an English translation of a three-part manga adaptation after the initial Japanese release set to come out in April by none other than V Jump.

Dragon Ball series creator, Akira Toriyam has been credited with the screenplay, character design, and concept of the upcoming movie. Momoiro Clover, known for performances on popular manga series such as Bodacious Space Pirates and Sailor Moon Crystal, will perform the main theme song of the film while Tadayoshi Yamamuro, the Dragon Ball Z animation director will direct.
