Since the announcement of Dragon Ball DAIMA nearly a year ago, fan excitement has surged worldwide for the latest series in the Dragon Ball universe, created by Akira Toriyama. It has quickly become one of the most anticipated anime debuts of 2024. Now, following the news of the subtitled broadcast debut on October 11, Toei Animation and Fathom Events have unveiled plans to bring the world premiere of the English dub of Dragon Ball DAIMA to U.S. theaters this November.
This special three-day theatrical event gives U.S. fans the chance to be among the first to experience the new English dub of Dragon Ball DAIMA, exclusively in theaters. The premiere will feature the first three episodes of the series and will be screened on November 10, 11, and 12 in hundreds of theaters across the country. To promote the event, Toei Animation released the first-ever English dub trailer, building anticipation for the series’ theatrical debut.
Tickets for the Dragon Ball DAIMA World English Dub Premiere will go on sale starting October 11 at Fathom Events and participating theater box offices. A full list of theater locations will be available on the Fathom Events website, though participating theaters may be subject to change.
“We are thrilled to bring the world dub premiere of Dragon Ball DAIMA to U.S. theaters this November,” said Masayuki Endo, President and CEO of Toei Animation Inc. “This special event offers U.S. fans an exclusive chance to be among the first to watch the never-before-seen English dub of Dragon Ball DAIMA, while experiencing Akira Toriyama’s exciting new story on the big screen. Dragon Ball DAIMA was first unveiled to a packed audience at New York Comic Con on October 12, 2023, during the Dragon Ball Special Panel. The new series also celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Dragon Ball manga, which debuted in 1984 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump and has sold a record 260 million copies worldwide.
Produced by Toei Animation, the Dragon Ball anime franchise has achieved massive global success, becoming a cultural phenomenon with a multi-generational fan base. With the addition of Dragon Ball DAIMA, the franchise now spans six episodic series, including Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Z Kai, and Dragon Ball Super, as well as 21 feature films, a variety of video and mobile games, a trading card game, and an ever-expanding range of merchandise and entertainment experiences.
