The next Die Hard will take us back to John McClanes origins .
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he last Die Hard film can be universally accepted has the worst in the series. That being said, the movie did do alright overall and Fox wants to put another Die Hard film in the works. This film won’t following John McClane following the events of A Good Day to Die Hard, but will actually gives us a background story on our favorite NYPD cop.
According to Deadline, FOX has a deal in the works with Len Wiseman, who wrote the was in charge of Live Free or Die Hard, to return and work alongside producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. You could see this as a move on FOX’s part to bring back the Die Hard series in a way that would remind fans of when the first three films were released.
Supposedly the plot that will be driving this sixth Die Hard film will revolve around when John McClane was just an ordinary cop in New York City and what events transpired that set him on the course for becoming a shoot first, ask questions later kind of guy. That being said, FOX is aiming for the film to still include Bruce Willis playing his role as John McClane alongside another (younger) actor who will portray him back in the late 1970s. No actor has been announced for the role yet, but if things turn out right like they did with Live Free or Die Hard, FOX could have another box office giant on their hands.
