UPDATE – 2:22am, July 31: 20th Century Fox has made us take the footage down, though you can likely find it elsewhere on the web still.
Ever since X-Men Origins: Wolverine, there has been talk of a Deadpool spinoff film. The movie, which is set to have Ryan Reynolds return as the “Merc with a Mouth“, also got Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to pen the script.
The test footage, which shows Deadpool bearing a striking resemblance to Ryan Reynolds (including his voice), is all in CGI, rather than live action, though the movie is planned to be a live action R-rated film.
VIDEO HAS BEEN REMOVED AT THE REQUEST OF 20TH CENTURY FOX
If this is real, and it looks that way, then this movie has the potential to be totally awesome. I’m just being real here guys, I am f–cking excited as all hell for this. I mean, it’s DEADPOOL.
To be clear, the movie has not officially been green-lit by FOX, though rumors have been suggesting it’s right around the corner from being so. That said, this could be a leak that was intentional to get fans excited and riled up, to show the studios that fans are indeed interested in this project happening. NEWSFLASH: We are!
