Safe to say it isn’t happening, folks.
Last week, The Wrap reported (in a story that has since been updated) that Ryan Reynolds has shot a scene as Deadpool intended as a post-credit stinger for the upcoming solo Wolverine film, Logan.
Since then, this report has been denied by everyone involved with the rumor, including Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and the director of Logan, James Mangold.
Reynolds tweeted a lighthearted dismissal of the rumor.
Sadly, not true. Prisoner 24601 is on a solo mission. https://t.co/5czBmMRfY1

While Mangold was bit more sour about the story.
@TheWrap @VancityReynolds @WolverineMovie For everyone freaking out, @TheWrap is dealing in fake news. Chill.

And Jackman just agreed with them both.

Yep, it pretty safe to say that the Mere with a Mouth will not be in Logan; post-credit scene or otherwise.
We’re pretty bummed about this, and we know Reynolds is for sure, but at the end of the day, Deadpool probably wouldn’t work in Logan.
The final Jackman-Wolverine film seems to be a dour and serious mediation on the famous mutant, so if Deadpool, a wacky fourth-wall breaking goofball, shows up, it could be a tonal nightmare.
Anyway, we’re pumped for Jackman’s final outing as Wolverine with or without Wade Wilson.
Logan hits theaters on March 3, 2017.
