Deadpool and the nature of the ‘Honest Trailers’ are a match made in heaven, and this brilliant take on Deadpool certainly proves as much:
Since Deadpool is known for breaking the fourth wall, he wouldn’t be content with letting a prime opportunity go by. Staying very true to his character, he crashed his own ‘Honest Trailer’ in an epically meta fashion, and we really wouldn’t expect anything less.
Deadpool pretty much wins every argument with the trademark movie voice over guy, by reminding us of the fact that the movie is deservedly the ‘highest grossing R-rated movie of all time.’
In fact, its one of the first facts the trailer addresses, by illustrating how Deadpool has made more money than every other superhero movie going.
The trailer really is brilliant, and perfectly marries the humour of both the ‘Honest Trailers’ and Deadpool. They’re the kind of trailers you can imagine Deadpool approving of, and it’s so great that Reynolds got in on the action and had a lot of fun with it – you’ve got to admit Reynolds nails the movie voice over impression.
It really is no wonder Deadpool was such a huge success. Reynolds just proves time and again how awesome he is by poking fun at himself, and completely embodying the character, and the trailer just reminds us why we all love Deadpool so much.
