All hail king Deadpool!
Deadpool is destroying all expectations and X-Men movies alike. In a shocking turn of events Deadpool has become the highest grossing X-Men movie at the domestic box office thus far, just beating out the previous #1, X-Men: The Last Stand, which grossed about 234 million.
Just weeks after its release, Deadpool has grossed a solid 236 million in the United States. Unfortunately still has not taken the title of highest grossing global X-Men film, Days of Future Past, with a whooping total of 748 million. Although as of now Deadpool is sitting at a pretty 492 million.
Now some things to be noted, Deadpool was not allowed to be shown in a handful of countries around the world due to some of its content. That and it is an R-rated film, which does limit its audience and holds back some potential to reach more people and more money. These are a few setbacks for the film, but even so it still is crushing these records.
Now there is no telling if Deadpool will take over as the highest grossing X-Men Film to date but it does have potential to do so. With the movie surprising everyone at all turns it should be a treat to see if it can overcome this hurdle and launch itself to the top.
