All hail king Deadpool!
Deadpool once again has destroyed another box office record. To add to the already large list of records, Deadpool is now the highest grossing R-rated film on the planet. Now grossing a jaw dropping 745.9 million world wide, just surpassing The Matrix: Reloaded. Still ahead of Deadpool domestically is American Sniper and The Passion of the Christ.
No one really saw this coming as the studio was hesitant to invest money into this project, obviously now paying off. Which is fantastic for the sequel, the movie had so many budget cuts and limits that it was not handed the tools to make a great film. Even with those roadblocks it did not stop them from pouring all they could into this movie. Which will give a sequel even more traction and no reason to be held back by the studio whatsoever.
