Darksiders 2 is getting a “deathinitive edition” and we know what the box art looks like thanks to an Amazon product page.
[dropcap size=small]B[/dropcap]ack in 2012 Darksides II, an action role-playing game, was released by THQ. The game was received with mostly positive reviews and in August of 2012 it was the best-selling game with over 247,000 units sold. After that Darksiders II’s sales dropped and in November the game had only sold 1.5 million copies. THQ stated that the game “did not perform to our expectations.”
In November of the same year as the release of Darksiders II, THQ reported that it was on the verge of bankruptcy and no one bought the company. However Nordic Games, in a multimillion dollar deal, acquired the rights to the Darksiders franchise. Considering Darksiders II’s sales history, it seems to be a risky move on Nordic Games’ part to remake the game. Then again, with the game being released on a far more advanced console, the game could perform much better.
Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition is currently only listed for Playstation 4 with a price tag of $40. It is unknown at this time if the game will be released on other consoles. Hopefully Nordic Games will reveal more at E3 in June.
