The Defenders is to begin filming sometime later this year.
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]ith the Netflix original series Marvel’s Daredevil being a smashing success with two seasons under its belt it makes sense that Charlie Cox, the actor who portrays the character Matt Murdock in the show, to be the one to answer questions and give out details regarding Marvel’s The Defenders and a possible third Daredevil season. The actor sat down in Paris today to give us an idea of what to expect and sadly, there isn’t much.
Charlie Cox wasted no time on Monday answering the question that was on everyone’s mind, would there be a third season of Daredevil? With the second season holding a strong amount of viewers and critics appraisal, many fans were left wondering if they would see Matt Murdock’s story continue to be played out. Unfortunately, it seems even Mr. Cox isn’t certain.
“We don’t know if there’s going to be a season three. I certainly don’t know.”
But don’t worry! The second season of Daredevil isn’t the last time we’ll being seeing Matt Murdock put on the red suit. According to Charlie Cox, The Defenders is due to begin filming sometime later on this year, bringing together Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage.
“What we do know is at the end of this year we’re going to be making The Defenders and, of course, Daredevil is very much a part of that foursome. I have no idea what the storyline is going to be for that show. I’m very excited to see how those world’s combine and interested to see totally how those shows become one.”
It would seem that being the actor behind Marvel’s most popular television doesn’t grant you any special insight into what the entertainment juggernaut’s plans are. Nonetheless, even if there isn’t a third season of Marvel’s Daredevil you can’t help but be excited with the news of an Avengers-style show bringing together four badass heroes in Hell’s Kitchen.
