An offer of $99 million for two more Bond films wasn’t enough to get Daniel Craig to stay.

[dropcap size=small]J[/dropcap]ust like James Bond walked away from Oberhauser (Christoph Waltz) at the end of Spectre, Daniel Craig is walking away from one of the largest offers in 007 history. According to The Daily Mail, the British actor was offered an astounding $99 million for two movies as well as endorsements and profit sharing as a producer. Several estimates put this offer at a grand total of $175 million but money doesn’t buy happiness, or so they say.

What may be even more surprising is the news that bookmakers are refusing to accept bets that Tom Hiddleston is going to be the next James Bond. This isn’t too surprising when you consider that Tom Hiddleston is one of the best male British actors to grace our screens since Benedict Cumberbatch and the man is a big hit not only in Britain but overseas as well. If you’re still not convinced that Tom Hiddleston may be the next James Bond, there are reported sightings of the actor meeting with Sam Mendes (director of Spectre) and executive producer Barbara Broccoli.

While not completely confirmed, it would be safe to say that Spectre was Daniel Craig’s last James Bond movie since the actor was more than happy to let everyone know how miserable he was while being involved in the filming of the movie. It’s rather sad considering how great Skyfall was and the amount of talent and acting ability the man brought to the screen. Still, how can you not be excited for Tom Hiddleston going from cunning and vengeance-filled Loki to calm and ruthless James Bond? We definitely are.
