Vin Diesel says we’ll be seeing a “goofy, adorable” Baby Groot in Vol 2.!

[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]f you’re not already feeling the hype for the upcoming sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy, then the trailer which dropped a few hours ago should fix that in no time. In it we see a glimpse of each guardian, but it was thanks to one little fella in particular that we got our fill of cuteness for the day.

Yep, you’ve guessed it, I am of course talking about little Baby Groot.

The small guy has been quite the hot topic when it comes to Vol 2., and given how popular Groot was in the first movie, it’s not so surprising that fans are showing a great amount of care and concern in regard to the new miniature Groot.

We already know Baby Groot won’t have Groot’s memories in the upcoming movie – which means he’s a brand new incarnation of the lovable character – but just what else can we expect from the cutest guardian in the galaxy for round two?

Well, Vin Diesel (who’s lending his voice to Baby Groot) has some answers for us thanks to an interview he gave with Collider (via Screenrant).

Whilst Diesel was doing promotional work for his upcoming war drama, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, he was asked if – and how – Baby Groot is different from Groot, to which Diesel revealed what we can expect from Groot’s infant reincarnation:

“Yeah, there is a difference. He couldn’t be more naive as Baby Groot. I always think of the Groot that we saw on the first Guardians as a college-level Groot, so he’s not fully grown yet, but he’s a man. And once he sacrifices himself at the end of the movie, now he has to start all over, so to speak, but we’re gonna see this goofy, adorable, baby Groot thing running around the screen and just learning as he goes.”

Since he is “Baby” Groot, it’s to be expected that he would be more naive than his grown up counterpart, and thanks to his crowd-pleasing dance moves at the end of the first movie, we couldn’t be more thrilled to hear we’ll be seeing more of his”goofy, adorable” side!

We can’t wait to see more of Baby Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 when it hits theatres 5 May, 2017!
