[dropcap size=small]F[/dropcap]ollowing the outstanding success of Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier, there has been talk of Red Skull returning for the third installment of Cap’s adventures. In a recent interview with Screenrant, director Anthony Russo (half of the team responsible for directing The Winter Soldier) was asked about the possibility of Red Skull returning for Captain America 3, and here’s what he had to say:
“We can’t really comment specifically in terms of where we’re going with it, just because we don’t want to spoil anything for anybody. But certainly, look. That’s the great thing about the Marvel universe, is anything is possible. All these characters exist. And as we’ve seen on the publishing side, there’s very inventive, creative ways to make characters relevant again and surprising ways to make the characters relevant again. He’s a great character. Whether or not he finds his way back I can’t really say.”
It is good to see that the Brothers Russo are not in danger of falling into complacency with the Captain America franchise and are excited to push the bounds and use every open door available to them in the Marvel Comic Universe.
