[dropcap size=small]R[/dropcap]ecent reports say that ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ and ‘Parks and Rec‘ star Chris Pratt turned down the role of Nathan Drake, the lead character in Naughty Dog‘s critically acclaimed Uncharted series. The movie adaptation of the game series has been under production for some time now, with talks of Mark Wahlberg as a potential Drake, but turning it down before the role was offered to Pratt.

Director Seth Gordon has stated that, moving forward in the search, he’d rather have a highly skilled, unknown, actor play the role rather than a celebrity of lesser acting pedigree. This is mainly due to the high caliber of performance and story in the games so far, and wanting to live up to the high standard already set by Naughty Dog and Nathan Drake voice actor, Nolan North.

Nathan Drake scours the land for the right actor to portray him.

On a lighter note, Mark Boal will be joining the writing crew to work on the film’s screenplay. Boal is already an Oscar winner, receiving the award for his writing in ‘The Hurt Locker‘. This is undoubtedly good news for Uncharted fans the world over.

What actors do you think could pull off the witty, lovable, scoundrel Nathan Drake? Leave your suggestions in the comments!
