[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]n honor of the late Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz’s 92nd birthday, Twentieth Century Fox has released a new teaser poster for the upcoming Peanuts CG-animated film. Check out the poster featuring Snoopy and Woodstock sleeping on top of Snoopy’s iconic doghouse.
The Peanuts Movie is being written by Schulz’s son and grandson, Craig and Bryan Schulz, along with newcomer Cornelius Uliano. It was announced in October that Bridesmaids and Ghostbusters 3 producer Paul Feig would be on board to produce, with Steve Martino directing. The Schulz Family is very protective of the Peanuts property, and Martino was entrusted to direct the movie due in part to his faithful film adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s Horton Hears a Who!
The Peanuts franchise is one that is close to the hearts of several generations, after appearing as a comic strip for over 50 years in addition to several full-length feature films and TV specials. The Peanuts Movie marks the first time in 35 years that Charlie Brown and the gang will be on the silver screen, and its release will be highly anticipated by audiences everywhere.
And in case you missed it, here’s the film’s trailer, complete with Snoopy dreaming that he’s battling the dastardly Red Baron in the skies above France.
Classic Snoopy. Good grief.
The Peanuts Movie lands in theaters November 6, 2015.
