Necalli joins the fight!
[dropcap size=small]L[/dropcap]ast weekend, Las Vegas hosted EVO 2015, the world’s biggest fighting game tournament. Multiple brawlers were played by some of the most talent gamers in the world, and as a treat to them, a few fighting game related announcements were made. One of the biggest announcements was Capcom revealing that their forthcoming Street Fighter V will feature an all-new character, Necalli.
Necalli, who looks like Kratos from God of War with giant dreads, is being touted as a mysterious and brutal fighter who utilizes an animalistic style.
Capcom stresses that, “Players who enjoy a straight forward, hard hitting character will feel right at home with Necalli, as he possesses a wide variety of savage, close range attacks, as well as a command grab, all with the goal of demolishing his foes.”

The reveal of Necalli wasn’t the only big Street Fighter V news at EVO. Also announced were Capcom’s plans for delivering post-launch content to the anticipated game. Their strategy involves only releasing one disc-based version of the fighting game, and all balance and system adjustments will be free to the player. On top of that, all DLC content can be purchased with an in-game currency called “Fight Money,” so if you don’t want to pay for a new character, you can basically unlock him or her through just playing the game.
To many, this new service-based approach to Street Fighter is a welcome change, especially after the four retail iterations of Street Fighter IV.
Necalli joins classic character like Ryu and Ken in Street Fighter V, coming to PS4 and PC in March 2016.
