Universal has plans to morph the popular books series into a live-action movie.

[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]f you grew up in the 90s, then you probably remember a lot of things famous for that time. Denim, N64, Playstation, Backstreet Boys, Blink-182, Brittany Spears, awkward fashion styles, frosted tips, Beanie Babies, Tamagotchi(s?), etc. But if you either read young adult books during that time, or watched television, then you probably remember Animorphs. A story about six teenagers who can morph into animals to combat the potential alien takeover of Earth. You can watch the trailer below.

Talk about well done CGI and fantastic acting, am I right? Animorphs became popular right away and two years after the first book was published the television series aired in 1998, running for two seasons. The book series/television series is viewed by many as a 90s icon so there is quite a bit of pressure on Universal to do the story justice.

So how popular could Animorphs be? As mentioned before, the series was popular in the 90s so there would be a large audience already attending the movie whenever it hits theaters. At the same time, young adult novels that are very popular these days is and they typically fall into two genre categories: vampire and dystopian novel. Since Animorphs takes place in modern day America, most audience members will be able to relate to the problems.

The release date for Animorphs is currently not known, but you can be sure that more news will be released in the next coming weeks. One thing is certain, if Universal Studios pulls this movie off just like they did with Jurassic WorldStraight Outta Compton, and Furious 7, it could be another box office winner.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
