“Introducing the next deranged entry into the world of The Boys: VOUGHT RISING, starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash. Set in the 1950s, exploring the early exploits of Soldier Boy and a supe you know as Stormfront. Only advice for now is keep your hands off the fucking shield.” via @TheBoysTV
Vought Rising, set in the 1950s, will explore the origins of Vought and the early days of Soldier Boy and Stormfront, known then as Clara Vought. Paul Grellong, an executive producer of The Boys, will serve as executive producer and showrunner for the prequel.
Jensen Ackles, who is also set to star in Prime Video’s upcoming thriller Countdown, developed by Derek Haas, will continue his long-standing collaboration with Eric Kripke, which began nearly two decades ago with Supernatural. Ackles is also set to return as a series regular for the fifth and final season of The Boys, as announced during today’s Comic-Con panel.
The executive producers for Vought Rising include Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, and Michaela Starr. This new installment marks a significant expansion of The Boys franchise, which continues to captivate audiences, with its fourth season recently drawing over 1 billion weekly viewing minutes in the U.S.
Additional spinoffs include The Boys Presents: Diabolical, Gen V, and the upcoming The Boys: Mexico.
