[dropcap size=small]M[/dropcap]ac users, the wait is finally over.
The critically-acclaimed Metal Gear franchise has sliced its way onto the Apple platform for the first time ever with Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. The Metal Gear spinoff game was originally released in February 2013 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, with a Windows PC version having been released in January 2014.
Now, through a partnership between Konami and TransGaming, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is available for Mac users through Steam, as well as through the Mac App Store. Konami producer Yuji Korekado released a statement saying:
[dropcap size=small]“[/dropcap]Metal Gear has been a massive global success on myriad platforms and bringing the series to Mac was long overdue. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was a turning point in the series and is the ideal introduction for new Mac players.”
Unlike the stealth and sneaking style of gameplay preferred by the core Metal Gear Solid games, the Revengeance spinoff (still part of the Metal Gear canon) utilizes the “hack and slash” style, with players taking control of the cyborg-ninja Raiden.
The game sells for $30, but right now you can snag it for the promotional price of $25.49 until September 30.
Happy hunting!
