In a monumental announcement, the official Halo social media accounts have revealed that all future Halo games will be developed using Unreal Engine 5. But that’s not the big news, which is that the company will be undergoing a radical rebranding, presumably due to some misfires and poor critical reception since 343i took over. Halo 4, Halo 5, Infinite, The Master Chief Collection, and the critically panned Halo show on Paramount+. Each have all faced mediocre to incredible criticism and backlash to some degree, with not one single 343i project being above mixed reviews.
Take a look at the clip below to get a teaser of what the future has in store for the Halo franchise under ‘Halo Studios’:

In the short ViDoc (video documentary), fans are given a glimpse into the future of the beloved franchise, and the results are nothing short of stunning. The video offers a deep dive into the development process, and the staff of the Halo Team shared their vision for the future of Halo. The sleek graphics, advanced lighting effects, and realistic environments made possible by Unreal Engine 5 suggest that the next generation of Halo games will reach new heights of immersive gameplay.
The ViDoc also revealed that 343 Industries, the studio behind recent Halo titles, will be rebranding as Halo Studios. This change emphasizes a fresh outlook and a renewed focus on the franchise as the team embarks on what they call a “multi-discipline research project,” internally referred to as Project Foundry.
The studio has clearly expressed excitement about where they want to take the series and has extended an invitation to passionate and talented individuals in the community to join them. Halo Studios is actively recruiting, signaling their commitment to building a diverse and skilled team as they forge ahead into this new dawn for the franchise.
Project Foundry seems to aim to explore the creative possibilities that Unreal Engine 5 can offer for the future of the Halo series and as part of this ambitious initiative, Halo Studios is not just focused on advancing the technical aspects of the game but also redefining the core elements of the series that have resonated with fans for over two decades. This reimagined direction promises a new era for Halo, where innovation and fan feedback will play central roles in shaping its future.
