Earlier this morning, leaks and images begin to make the rounds online of Ubisoft’s next Assassin’s Creed title ‘Assassin’s Creed Mirage‘. Ubisoft presumably was waiting to reveal the name and first official image of the game closer to their planned Ubisoft Forward event on September 10th but seemingly had no choice but to acknowledge and reveal the game early.

According to reports, users who were sharing the leaked information and images were getting hit with DMCA takedown notices and strike penalties, resulting in locked or suspended social media accounts. “Your account has been locked because Twitter received a complaint Digitial Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) Notice for content posted to your Twitter Account” is what was being provided to Twitter users who shared content related to the Assassin’s Creed leaks.
Ubisoft will hold their next Ubisoft Forward event on September 10th at 12:00p PST and will likely share more than just the details of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which is rumored to take place in Baghdad, and possibly a remake of the original Assassin’s Creed.
