Uncharted A Thief’s End and The lost Legacy Are Coming to PC but What About the Nathan Drake Collection?

"Are you ready to seek your fortune?"

We have known for some time now that Sony was planning on bringing Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End to PC after a report from Sony confirmed as much along with Days Gone, which has already landed on Steam. And now with the PlayStation Showcase confirmation that both A Thief’s End and The Lost Legacy are coming in one beautiful bundle known as the Legacy of Thieves Collection, we can’t help but wonder what the reason is to bring the fourth core installment in the Uncharted series over to PC and not the first three. What’s the deal?

A lot of gamers who play exclusively on PC will miss out on major parts of the story of Nathan Drake and the other key characters from the series which seems like an odd move, all things considered. If you look at any comments on any posts, especially the announcement trailer above, you will see gamers rejoicing over the news that Uncharted will be arriving on PC platforms soon but many are wanting to know if the Nathan Drake collection, which includes Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune (2007), Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (2009), and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception (2011) are coming eventually as well. Unfortunately, all we are getting is crickets in response.

For now, we would have to assume that the plan is to bring those over. Sure, the first three entries in the Uncharted series were made for PS3 and perhaps that is a rather difficult task in bringing them over, but considering that these titles were remasted for PS4, it is surely possible to bring them over. Heck, if Bethesda can bring Skyrim to every console known to man, Naughty Dog and Sony can figure out a way to bring these games to PC. No excuses. Plus, this isn’t the first time classic titles from the PS3 era were brought over. See the Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection as a shining example, for instance.

For the life of me, I just can’t imagine why Sony and Naughty Dog would do this outside of it just being easier on the devs. Which is honestly a poor excuse, if you ask me.

Perhaps they will arrive eventually, maybe in the form of DLC later or perhaps a pre-order bonus for some special collector’s edition or even as standalone titles. We do not know for sure what the reason is to release only the fourth game but we definitely know that Sony is losing out on some serious cash by not bringing these legacy titles over for one of the most beloved PlayStation franchises of all time.
