There are a lot of horror games out there that deliver impressive graphics, compelling story, terrifying scares, and evil creatures that want nothing more than to kill and or eat your soul. And while Adam – Lost Memories has a lot of those themes, it has one thing that not many other games can claim- it is based on real events.
Adam Dubi, the developer of Lost Memories, and whom the game is named after, created this game in his childhood image, though an extreme one. He says that the purpose of the game being made this way was to illustrate to players “how it feels to be a child who grew up in a family that’s falling apart“.
The game looks creepy and sort of reminds us of a hybrid of a few keystone horror games in the genre. Silent Hill, The Evil Within, these games lend their horrifying visuals to the beautifully designed Lost Memories, all from the fractured mind and broken memories of Dubi himself.

In Lost Memories, you play as Adam, with no reliance on simulators or jump-scares, but rather as a mentally ill person who suffers from panic disorders. And while the game’s bone-chilling atmospheres and monstrosities aren’t exactly real, the emotions and sense of isolation, fear, dread, and of course panic, are. Essentially, Lost Memories is the manifestation of Dubi’s own child abuse.
Adam – Lost Memories is available now on PC for $14.99.
