I thought we were in trouble there for a second but it’s fine, we’re fine.
After getting a brief teaser during the Super Bowl last night (here), (and endless speculation that it might now even happen), the first trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story is finally here. Check it out below.
Let’s get this out-of-the-way first: It looks fine. It’s fine. We’re fine. We’re all fine here. Now. Thank you. How are you?
Despite a very, very troubled preproduction, including the firing of its original directors, extensive reshoots, and alleged acting coaches for the lead talent, the first trailer for Solo shows us that, yep, it looks like a Star Wars movie.
And there’s plenty to get excited about. There’s striking and bleak cinematography similar to Rogue One (not to mention the droid copilot, the beach scenes, and the “I’m putting together a crew” line), that big space tentacle at the end, and of course, Donald Glover as Lando. That grin could even make Bill Belichick smile.
And Alden Ehrenreich as Han doesn’t look bad! We’re not worried. He’s fine.
It’s fine
Everything’s fine.
Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25.
