If the NES Classic was any indicator, the SNES Classic will sell fast.
[dropcap size=small]D[/dropcap]espite the announcement by Nintendo that a SNES Classic would be for sale this fall many US retailers do not offer pre-orders for the console. Recently, Nintendo answered this potential problem by posting on Facebook that domestic pre-orders will begin “late this month” at “various retailers.”
The company is taking steps to ensure that they avoid the problems that surfaced when the NES Classic went on sale. There were insufficient supplies which led to quick sellouts for the NES Classic when it was released. Nintendo severely underestimated the demand for the NES Classic Edition and is now promising that more systems will be available on September 29 when they go on sale. “A significant amount of additional systems will be shipped to stores for launch day and throughout the balance of the calendar year,” the company stated in their Facebook post. “We will produce significantly more units of Super NES Classic Edition than we did of NES Classic Edition.”
