The company has given the green light for a Black Cat/Silver Sable spinoff with the director of and writer for The Secret Life of Bees, Gina Prince-Bythewood, has been granted the position of director with Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal producing the project. In addition to this impressive team Christ Yost, who wrote the script for Thor: Ragnarok and Lisa Joy, who helped work on the script for Westworld, are working on the script together. Can you say dream team?
Silver Sable, who is a mercenary with a company that hunts down criminals who commit war crimes, has a complex history with Spidey as both an ally and an antagonist. Teaming her up with Black Cat, who has a complicated romantic history with Peter Parker and the law, is the recipe for a fantastic movie. With Gina Prince-Bythewood as director and a team of talented writers this could turn out to be a fantastic film.
