It’s been almost a year since part 2 of the first season was released, so you can forgive fans for being eager to get their hands on more. News surfaced back in 2014 that the second season was originally planned for a 2016 release, but nothing materialised.
Perhaps plans changed to give some breathing room to the upcoming release of the Attack on Titan game, Wings of Freedom, due out this August.
Regardless of the reasons, it’s great to finally have an official air date, and we can’t wait to see the crew return for the next battle against the Titans.
Let’s hope this air date is as unchangeable as Levi’s signature facial expression (which I personally can’t wait to see again [insert heart sign here]).
The original Japanese voice cast are due to return for the second season, and whilst we’re still waiting on news of the English voice cast list, we’re sure they will also reprise their roles. Tesuro Araki is also returning, but this time as chief director, with Masashi Koizuka taking the role of director.
Attack on Titan is set to air Spring 2017.
The game Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom is set for release in Europe 26 August, 2016, and 30 August, 2016 in the US on PS3, PS4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One and PC.
