The Boys are back in town.
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]ith the success of AMC’s The Walking Dead proving that it isn’t just Marvel and DC comics that can become a smashing success, a new comic book series is on the way. Called The Boys, the incredibly violent and gloomy show is set to premier on Cinemax and Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Neal Mortiz are behind the project.

The Boys is being written by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke so you already know the show is in good hands, and will follow the graphic novel that was written by Garth Ennis (who also wrote Preacher) and Darick Robertson. The show will follow a special group of CIA agents known as the boys as they work to keep an eye on superheroes who have trouble handling their newfound celebrity status. The graphic novel isn’t all sunshine and rainbows and there are times when the group must eliminate some of the superheroes when the safety of cities, states and even the planet are compromised.

This isn’t the first time that Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Neal Mortiz have brought a dark comic books series to life. All three men were behind the making of AMC’s newest television series Preacher which is due to premier on May 22nd and their latest project is looks very promising. It is an exciting break from the usual superhero shows that have been popping up all across television and hopefully the show will last just as long as the comic books series, which ran from 2008 until 2012.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
