RDJ straight up confirmed that Spider-Man is going to appear in Captain America: Civil War.
[dropcap size=small]O[/dropcap]nce again Robert Downey Jr. has proven that he was put on this earth to play the role of Tony Stark. The man seems to embody everything that Tony Stark is at heart. For example, when the contracts were drawn up for Captain America: Civil War one of the most important rules for the actors was to not discuss anything regarding Spider-Man and if he would appear in the film. Several of the actors have already been approached about Spider-Man and every single one has kept their mouth shut, except for RDJ.
” [Don] Cheadle and I are just going, ‘Wow, dude, look at this.’ We’re now like the old guard, and our storyline carries real weight just because of our history in the [canon]. But we’re also looking around like, ‘Who thought that Falcon and Black Panther and Ant-Man and now Spider-Man…?’ I mean it’s like wow, this thing is just crazy.”
Meanwhile Sebastian Stan, who plays Captain America’s best friend Bucky, seems to either have no clue who Tom Holland is or he doesn’t want to piss off the entertainment juggernaut that is Marvel.
“I have no idea who Tom Holland is. I really don’t.”
As for Chris Evans, he seems to have taken a piece of Steve Rogers with him and refuses to break the law. He might as well have pleaded the fifth when he was asked about it and then raised his shield to hide behind it as reporters launched even more questions at him.
“I can’t tell you anything about that. There are some things you remember from those list of no-no’s.”
Even with Sebastian Stan and Chris Evans avoiding the question Robert Downey Jr has taken one for Marvel fandom team and confirmed what most of us have been ninety percent certain of since the movie was announced. Regardless, it was nice of RDJ to make life a little bit easier for us.
Captain America: Civil War will hit theaters May 6th, 2016.
