Three down, two to go.
It’s been an eventful week for Power Rangers fans, as another Ranger has just been cast for the upcoming reboot film. The new Black Ranger will be portrayed by Ludi Lin.
This news was announced via the official Twitter and Instagram page for the film.

Lin is an up and coming actor who has appeared in various short films including The Shannon Entropy and The Intruders, as well as the Netflix series Marco Polo.
As this reboot will be based off of the original Mighty Morphin season of the Power Rangers series, chances are Lin’s character will be Zack Taylor, the first Black Ranger, portrayed by Walter Jones.
The casting of Jones as the Black Ranger was met with initial controversy, as many accused Saban Entertainment, owner of the Power Rangers franchise, as being racist, as Jones is African-American. Saban was apparently unaware that this casting was racially insensitive until the 10th episode of the series was produced.
Lin is the third Ranger to be cast for the film, which will begin production early next year. He joins Naomi Scott, the Pink Ranger, and Dacre Montgomery, the Red Ranger.
With only the Yellow and Blue Rangers left to be cast, it probably wont be long until we’ll see the completed roster of Rangers for the anticipated reboot.
Power Rangers morphs into theaters on January 13, 2017.
