Good news Sherlock fans; the fourth season of the acclaimed BBC series will begin production early next year, and perhaps more exciting, the trailer for the upcoming Christmas special has just been released.

Unlike the main series, this Christmas special will be a one-off episode that takes place in Victorian London, rather than modern-day. Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Watson (Martin Freeman, sporting a sick mustache) appear to be taking on another dangerous case, but specific details are still under wraps.
Will this be a tale torn straight off the pages of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic literature? Or will this be a brand new story in an old setting?
We don’t know, but we’re super excited to find out.
The new Sherlock special will air this Christmas on BBC One in the UK, and on PBS Masterpiece in the US.
