Tired of the same old turkey, at the same old table, with the same old faces every year? What would you say if you could instead sit where Harry Potter and Co. once sat to eat their Christmas feast at Hogwarts?
I can hear you now as you quickly dismiss me as crazy, and say – ‘it’s just pipe-dream, don’t be silly.’
Well, Warner Bro. Studio Tour in London is making that dream into a reality for some. The delicious chance offered up to fans, allows them have a Harry Potter themed Christmas dinner on the original set of the Great Hall, in everyone’s favourite school for witchcraft and wizardry.
Unsurprisingly, the magical event is already sold out, with tickets clocking in at a cool £250 (roughly $370) each.
Fans that have managed to bag themselves tickets are sure to be the envy of millions from all over the world.
Those who weren’t quite so fortunate will just have to look on longingly at the lucky fans selfies, as they gorge themselves silly in that wondrous hall…Nope, not jealous at all.
On the website, it gives an idea of just what the lucky fans can expect on the big day:
- Explore the Studio Tour, admiring sets such as the Gryffindor common room and the Weasley’s kitchen at The Burrrow, which will also be dressed as they were for winter scenes.
- Enjoy a selection of three festive dessert bowls on Platform 9 ¾, alongside the original Hogwarts Express.
- Drink Butterbeer in the backlot café and walk up the wizarding shopping street, Diagon Alley, before taking in the breathtaking Hogwarts castle model (covered in a layer of filmmaking snow especially for the festive season).
- Finish the evening with music and dancing, with a bar provided for those who wish to purchase additional drinks.
Sounds pretty great, doesn’t it?
For the rest of us, the Studio is also running a Hogwarts in the snow event, which sees the sets all dolled up in white snow and festive themes; it’s sure to be enchanting.
Failing that, you can always just play this whilst you’re having Christmas dinner, and pretend you’re a part of the magic too.
