Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn took to Twitter to answer fans question’s about Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2.
[dropcap size=small]F[/dropcap]an theories about Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 have been astronomically crazy and rightly so considering just how wacky and insane Guardians of the Galaxy was. Even though the second movie is nearly two years away, fans are going nuts with theories about who will be in the next film. To calm down the fans, director James Gunn held a Q&A on Twitter.
Its understandable why fans would believe that the Hulk might make an appearance after the unstoppable giant decided to go MIA during Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, it seems like James Gunn just doesn’t feel like the behemoth would fit in, or maybe Marvel has other plans for the big guy, who knows?
Now this I can understand. Quill is unique in the way that he is the sole human/earthling right now. If you were to add in another human character it would steal away some of Starlord’s thunder. Besides, Captain Marvel has her own movie all about her that is due to be released on November 2nd, 2018. Sure its a long ways away, but adding her in so soon wouldn’t really make sense.
I’m going to be the optimist in this situation and say that James Gunn’s “SO MAYBE” is a yes to that question. Like Joss Whedon, James Gunn has been pushing for Marvel to add more female characters, regardless of whether they are heroes or villains, to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
That being said, there are a lot of options that James Gunn could use when it comes to possible heroes and Villains. For instance, Moon Dragon could make an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 and so could Quasar. If and whoever James Gunn chooses to make an appearance in the second film, you can be sure that it will fit perfectly.
Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 will hit theaters May 5th, 2017.
