Marvel Rebooting Blade, to Feature Vampire Hunter’s Daughter?

The next Blade film will focus on the original character’s daughter, Fallon Grey.

[dropcap size=small]B[/dropcap]lade was the first successful movie that was based on a Marvel comic book series and it is because of this success that many people say that we have the Marvel movies like Iron Man and Avengers today. Blade was incredibly successful, spawning two sequels and bringing back the day-walking vampire slayer to the Marvel Universe. It now seems that it is Blade’s daughter’s turn to step into the lime light.

While Wesley Snipes has mentioned several times that he would be open to reprising the role of Blade again, and the actor has confirmed that he has recently talked to Marvel about the idea, it seems Marvel will ultimately be heading in a different direction altogether. According to Bleeding Cool, the upcoming Blade movie will focus primarily on Blade’s daughter Fallon Grey. Marvel has even delayed the comic book release of Blade because it works hand-in-hand with the movie. Tim Seeley, a comic book writer for Marvel describes her as:

“She’s a sort of ‘anti-Peter Parker.’ She’s popular, she’s well-liked and it seems like the world is her oyster. But, the expectations that come with being so damn perfect are starting to break her down, and that’s before she learns she’s the heir to a Daywalking-Monster-Stabbing-Empire.”

At this point all details about the movie are up in the air and no is sure about the release date or who the cast is. It is entirely possible that Marvel may ask Wesley Snipes to play the mentor role for Fallon Grey, teaching her how to take down the blood suckers. Aside from when Blade will be released, the next big question is if the film will be a standalone film or a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, opening a whole new door for if/when Marvel does Phase Four.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
