Once again, rumors are circulating that Emily Blunt has been cast as Captain Marvel.
[toggler title=”TL;DR” ]Emily Blunt is rumored to be Captain Marvel, according to Mark E. Reilly who said, “It doesn’t make sense yet because it’s been a rumour but I’ve had somebody tell me that Emily Blunt is Ms. Marvel, that it’s a done deal.”[/toggler]
[dropcap size=small]U[/dropcap]nless you’re not interested in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and you don’t have access to the internet, then you probably know by now that nearly everyone has been begging Marvel to cast the actress Emily Blunt as Captain Marvel. Several months ago rumors surfaced that she had accepted the role, but the actress quickly put that rumor to rest. However, it now seems that the actress may have accepted the role, according to Mark E. Reilly’s The Meet The Movie Press podcast at least.
During Umberto Gonzalez and Mark E. Reilly’s The Meet The Movie Press podcast, the two were discussing one of Marvel’s most highly anticipated film’s, Captain Marvel. It was in the middle of this podcast that the Emily Blunt was suggested to be Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel. Mark E. Reilly said:
“It doesn’t make sense yet because it’s been a rumour but I’ve had somebody tell me that Emily Blunt is Ms. Marvel, that it’s a done deal.”
Right now the official release date for Captain Marvel is November 2, 2018, which means Marvel has plenty of time to find their Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. Nevertheless, there is an overwhelming amount of fan support for Emily Blunt and personally, after her role in Edge of Tomorrow, Emily Blunt has me convinced that she would make a great Captain Marvel. In the end, we’ll just have to wait.
