In a recent interview with GQ magazine, Pratt talked about all the projects he is currently working on.
[dropcap size=small]C[/dropcap]hris Pratt is one of Hollywood’s biggest actors right now; he starred in both Guardians of the Galaxy and The Lego Movie which were two of last years most popular and highest grossing films. He is also starring in one of this summers most anticipated movies, Jurassic World. Rumors have been floating around about many projects that Pratt is involved in including reboots for both Indiana Jones and Ghostbusters plus his status in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Rumors have been floating around for a while that Pratt would take up the fedora and whip and star in what would be Indiana Jones 5. Many were in favor of Pratt becoming Indiana Jones, including Stephen Spielberg and executives at Disney. Pratt has shed some light on the subject saying that he has been in contact with people at Disney regarding the role but he said that he has too many other previous obligations with other movies to add another potential franchise. But depending on when the next Indiana Jones is set for release, which Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy says will happen in the future, we could potentially see Pratt in the role.
Another huge rumor swirling around Chris Pratt is his involvement in the supposed Ghostbusters reboot or sequel. A few months ago, news came out that Sony had interest in expanding on the Ghostbuster universe and wanted it to star Pratt alongside Channing Tatum. In the interview with GQ, Pratt says that “No one has ever even spoken to me about that.” He goes on to say that he has seen Tatum a couple of times since the rumors came out but no one has ever mentioned anything to him.
Now many may be thinking, if Pratt will not be in any of these projects, what will he be involved in? He is set to star in a few movies including a remake of The Magnificent Seven, The Real McCoy, which centers around Bill McCoy who was a famous alcohol smuggler during prohibition, and a movie adaptation of the comic Cowboy Ninja Viking. Pratt would also reprise his role as Emmett in The Lego Movie Sequel.
This list does not include Pratt’s biggest movie related commitment, the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The only confirmed movie that Pratt is set to star in is Guardian of the Galaxy 2 where he will reprise his role as Peter Quill/Star-Lord. But he said he is locked up “to doing three more (movies), or five more,” in the GQ interview and goes on to say “Two more Guardians plus another couple…” which means that there will be a Guardians of the Galaxy 3. This also suggests that Pratt will be in Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 and 2. Infinity War Part 1 is set to start filming in the fall or winter of 2016 so we will not really know if Pratt will be in it for a while but it is presumed to be happening.
