Thr indie flick, Iron Sky: The Coming Race, is a sequel to the film Iron Sky (2012). However, the movie can’t come out without your help. The Indiegogo page is pledging $500,000, with only $105,000 raised in its 38 day remainder.
Donor rewards include anything from a t-shirt to a screen credit to becoming executive producer of the film. Yep, that’s right. For a mere $50,000 donation, you can executive produce the film. It’s nothing new, but I feel like we’re in a fad of mass producing “bad” movies, hoping one of them will develop a cult following and actually, you know, make money. I use the term bad loosely. It’s not a jab at anyone’s screenwriting or acting abilities. I’m talking about odd, far-fetched movie plots here.
Moving on, the original Iron Sky was about a secret Nazi base that was preparing to unleash its space army to attack Earth. The sequel, Iron Sky 2, takes place twenty years after the second World War, but Hitler now has a dinosaur army. The sci-fi indie film could be a huge hit, but we won’t know until it comes out.
