The improved console will hit stores worldwide in November.

[dropcap size=small]L[dropcap]ast week a tweet from The Verge’s Tom Warren claimed that Microsoft’s Xbox One X would be available for pre-order following the tech giant’s Gamescom press conference and live stream event and sure enough Tom was right. Available for pre-order before its official release worldwide on November 7th, Microsoft created a special edition for the Xbox One X called ‘Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition’. Currently priced at $499 the console has already sold out on Amazon, Microsoft, and Best Buy. Luckily, the console is still available for pre-order at Walmart and Target right now.

Right now, the Xbox One X has no exclusive titles planned and the Project Scorpio edition holds new special features except for a giant ‘X’, a different graphic pattern, and “Project Scorpio” on the front of the console. The Xbox One X was designed to compete with Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro and it definitely runs at a whopping 6 teraflops compared to the PlayStation 4’s 4.2 teraflops. That said, the only real reason to get a PS4 Pro or the Xbox One X is if you own a 4k tv which definitely isn’t inexpensive. On the bright side, however, more than 100 Xbox titles have been confirmed for Xbox One X optimizations which mean players will notice a higher resolution and better frame rates on the console.
