‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Continues To Add Mutants

If the X-Men and the rumors surrounding the X-Men have one thing in common, it’s that there’s a shitload of them.

[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]t seems like on a weekly basis, new X-Men are being added, or at least rumored to be added to X-Men: Apocalypse, the latest X-flick in the X-Men movie franchise helmed by Bryan Singer.

Last Week, Singer confirmed that Jubilee will appear in Apocalypse, portrayed by Hollywood newcomer Lana Condor. She joins the returning First Class series cast that includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult as Charles Xavier, Magneto, Mystique, and Beast–respectively. Then of course, there’s the added roster of the already-confirmed Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), and Nightcrawler (Cody Smith-McPhee).

Even with X-Men dump truck unloading what’s seemingly every major character into the flick, the rumor-mill is still churning out speculation. It’s widely rumored that Channing Tatum will make an appearance as Gambit in Apocalypse, prior to the release of his own standalone film. Additionally, Hugh Jackman is suggested to make an appearance as fan-favorite Wolverine, and Halle Berry also rumored to be returning as Storm (no word on how that might be done with Alexandra Shipp already portraying a younger version of the character).

But that’s not all, folks. Bryan Singer may be throwing another mainstream mutant into the fray. The director recently released some production art via his Instagram, which appears to show the X-Man Angel in King Kong-esque exhibition.

The addition of Angel wouldn’t be out of place, since the character plays a critical role in the Apocalypse comic book storyline. Actor Ben Hardy is rumored to be in talks for a role in X-Men: Apocalypse, and it’s rumored that he may be stepping into the role of Angel.

What are your thoughts on the confirmed castings and the surrounding rumors? Does the orgy of mutants expected to appear in X-Men: Apocalypse get you hyped? Or does it seem destined to be a confusing mess of playing who’s-who? Let us know in the comments below!

X-Men: Apocalypse lands in theaters May 27, 2016.
