11 years on from Blade: Trinity, the actor talks about making a return to the supernatural action franchise.

[toggler title=”TL;DR” ]Wesley Snipes has told Deadline of a ‘really productive meeting’ with Marvel over the possible return of Blade.[/toggler]

[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]esley Snipes claims he is in talks with Marvel over the possibility of a fourth Blade movie. Deadline interviewed the Demolition Man star, who was promoting his new NBC series The Player‘s Comic-Con panel, until he was asked about how he thought the SDCC crowd would react to The Player.

‘I just hope that we don’t have all the questions centered around whether I’m going to do a Blade Four or not.’

If Snipes really didn’t want to talk about Blade, you’d think he’d have the common sense not to mention it at all. Snipes’s hint at the vampire hunter’s return derailed the interview, and he was asked immediately whether the character would return.

‘The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things. I don’t know where it’s on their schedule at this point, that hasn’t been decided. I guess it’s still up in the air.’

Snipes eventually got back on topic following a string of Blade questions, the latest of which being whether Snipes could enter the MCU as another character if Blade doesn’t work out.

‘That’s a possibility. But if we don’t do a Blade Four or something else with Marvel, we’ll do something else. We have some other characters and some other concepts that are going to be just as exciting and hopefully just as successful. The first season of The Player will be interesting as well because we have drama and action, which is what I like.’

If Snipes really didn’t want to talk about Blade, you’d think he’d have the common sense not to mention it at all. There’s enough evidence there to suggest that Snipes wants to make Blade Four. To say that you’ve met with Marvel, whether it’s true or not, is a risky move, and perhaps a hint at fans to pressure the studio into speeding up the process?

While we wait for more Blade news, Snipes’s The Player debuts on September 24th on NBC.
