Say what you will about Zack Snyder, but the fact of the matter is you can love him or hate him, but his DC Comic films have been highly criticized and largely off the mark for many of the most popular superheroes in comic-book history. And apparently, Warner Bros knows this.
Speaking with I Minutemen of YouTube, Snyder was asked about the future of the DCEU, specifically regarding the possibility of Justice League 2, where he flat out stated that Warner Bros just doesn’t want to work with him going forward and that the #SnyderCut will likely be his last film among the franchise.
“The reality is, as far as I know, there’s no interests and or appetite to do more of these movies from Warner Bros. with me anyway.”
I will make it known that I am not a fan of Snyder as a director and I despise him as a writer. I credit him in that he can set up the perfect angle for some really impressive shots that make every scene he touches worthy of being screenshot and used as a wallpaper for your desktop, but story-wise, Snyder just doesn’t know how to piece it together. From Man of Steel, to BvS, to Justice League (say what you will about Whedon but it was Snyder’s story they had to Frankenstein together).
I can’t say I am surprised that Warner Bros is willing to cut ties with Snyder, as it is for the best, without question. His removal from the DCEU will allow for some more talented writers who respect and grew up with these characters to create some really beautiful and interesting stories on-screen.
