It has been confirmed that Keiynan Lonsdale has been cast as Wally West (Kid Flash) for the upcoming season of The Flash.
It looks like in the upcoming new season of The Flash, Flash will be getting some company. Warner Bros. and the producers over at The CW revealed this past week that Keiynan Lonsdale would be joining the cast of the television show. Lonsdale will be playing the character from the Flash Universe known as Wally West, or as most of us know him by his street name, Kid Flash. While this comes as great news for the TV show, most viewers knew it really was only a matter of time before Wally was added to the team.
Lonsdale recently gained a notable appearance in the film Insurgent, the second movie in the Divergent series. Producer Andrew Kreisburg knew instantly upon meeting Lonsdale that he would fit the role perfectly as Wally West and that he “embodied all the heart and courage of a hero.” It has not been confirmed if and when Wally will transform into Kid Flash in the TV series, but Lonsdale has been cast as a series regular, so it’s only a matter of time before we get a glimpse of the mini speedster. The current air date for the start of The Flash season 2 is October 6th, 2015, so be sure to mark your calendars.
