One. Last. Ride…three more times.
We’ve known for a while that Fast 8 is coming, but now, it looks like the Fast and Furious franchise is wrapping up after ten entries.
Series star Vin Diesel took to Instagram to reveal when the final three Fast and Furious films will be hitting theaters.
Diesel had previously teased that there would be a final trilogy to wrap up his action and car-crazy franchise, and now we have official confirmation.
Furious 7, which debuted last April, was a ginormous success. Although the tragic death of costar Paul Walker briefly put production of the film in limbo, Furious 7 went on to receive positive reviews and earn over $1.5 billion at the box office, making it currently the sixth highest grossing film of all time, thus ensuring more sequels would be coming.
Can the series remain fresh for the next six years?
Will we eventually get a Furious 11 starring an elderly Ludacris?
We hope so.
The final Fast and Furious films begin with Fast 8, coming to theaters on April 14, 2017.
