Today’s “this week in Destiny” blog post detailed a handful of changes coming in Destiny 2’s next episode, Revenant. Of those are a host of changes to UI and sandbox adjustments in addition to some juice details about the next Dungeon titled Vesper’s Host. This dungeon will not only feature the return of D1 exotic sniper Ice Breaker, but it will be the first dungeon with its own Contest Mode and Race.
Here is a brief summary of what you can expect from the Dungeon Race and Contest Mode when it goes live next month:
- Vesper’s Host dungeon launches Friday, October 11.
- Contest Mode will be enabled for the first 48 hours.
- The first three fireteams to finish the dungeon in Contest Mode will be crowned winners and rewarded.
- Prizes and glory await the top fireteams (not sure what these are exactly. Belt, perhaps?)
- Players must be at 1985 Power Level to reach the cap for all encounters.
- Fireteam of three players is required, apparently.
- Players must own The Final Shape Dungeon Key.
- Fireteams must loot the final chest to have their completion officially recorded.
- All members must complete every encounter for the first time to qualify.
- More aggressive enemies, resurrection tokens, and enrage mechanics will be in play.
- No Power advantage above the recommended level.
- Completing Contest Mode within the first 48 hours guarantees an emblem and the dungeon Exotic weapon.
- Normal Mode will be available as soon as the first three fireteams complete the dungeon.
- Follow the race on Twitch as part of Twitch Rivals for the ‘Effortless Flow’ emblem.
