The legendary studio behind One Piece and Digimon is storming the Javits Center this October with enough merch, panels, and life-sized anime icons to make even the most jaded con-goer say, “Yeah, I’m buying another tote bag.”
Toei’s booth (#2403) is the very first thing you’ll smack into upon entering the main hall. At 60 feet by 60 feet, it’s less a booth and more a small anime nation-state. Hanging overhead? A colossal Monkey D. Luffy in his GEAR5 form, looming like a kaiju who just discovered Comic Con scalper prices. The backdrop is a massive 46.5’ by 15.8’ wall wrapped with never-before-seen One Piece art, plus two trapezoid towers that scream, “Yes, we spent money on this.”
At the back, you’ll find pop-up stores stacked with One Piece trading cards, Bandai toys, and every piece of merch your wallet can’t afford but your inner child can’t resist. Shoppers also get a chance to pull raffle tickets for an autograph session with Digimon Beatbreak star Megumi Han—because nothing says “shopping therapy” like gambling for signatures.
If you need more ways to prove you were there, Toei has you covered with a Digimon Beatbreak photo op featuring the new cast of characters and Digimon. Yes, you too can stand awkwardly in front of giant cardboard monsters while a stranger fumbles with your phone camera.
Friday, October 10 at 12:45 PM – One Piece Panel (Empire Stage)
Producer Ryuta Koike, Director Wataru Matsumi, and English dub cast members Ian Sinclair (Brook) and Madeleine Morris (Lilith – Punk 02) will take the stage. Expect Q&A, behind-the-scenes chatter about the Egghead Arc, and maybe even a sneak peek at the upcoming Elbaf Arc. Translation: there’s a 90% chance you’ll hear “This hasn’t been announced yet, but…” before Twitter implodes. Bonus: everyone who enters gets a Monkey D. Luffy promo card—perfect for flexing in front of people who didn’t camp the line.
Sunday, October 12 at 12:30 PM – Digimon Beatbreak Panel (Room 405)
Producer Hiroyuki Sakurada and Megumi Han (the voice of Gekkomon) will drop fresh details on Digimon Beatbreak, premiering October 5 in Japan. There’ll be Q&A, behind-the-scenes insights, and even a screening of the new Digimon Story Time Stranger trailer. Attendees score a mini-poster just for showing up, and five lucky fans will walk away with an autograph session invite—lottery-style, Hunger Games-style, pick your metaphor.
If the chaos of Comic Con isn’t enough, Toei is also extending its empire to Lower Manhattan with One Piece x Mercer Labs, an immersive art-meets-anime exhibition running October 9 through November 30. For $50 a ticket, you can wander through surreal, larger-than-life One Piece installations while pretending you understand “immersive digital art.” It’s open Thursday through Sunday evenings, making it the perfect afterparty for those who weren’t already financially destroyed by Artist Alley.
Toei wants you to flood the internet with #TA_NYCC, because what’s a mega-franchise celebration without a trending hashtag to prove you were there?
Toei is showing up to NYCC 2025 like it’s their own private anime Olympics. Between the panels, merch, giant Luffy, and Digimon hype, they’ve basically guaranteed that Javits will smell like energy drinks, vinyl figures, and unwashed cosplay wigs for weeks after the con is over.
