Another!
Pre-production for the third Thor flick, Ragnarok, has amped up with the addition of a third screenwriter, Stephany Folsom.
Folsom is best known for scripting the 2013 film 1969: A Space Odyssey or How Kubrick Learned to Stop Worrying and Land on the Moon, as well as the upcoming Disney animated picture, The Princess of North Sudan.
Notably, Folsom is the third female screenwriter to be hired by Marvel. She joins Nicole Perlman, who worked on Guardians of the Galaxy with James Gunn, and Meg LeFauve who will be working on Captain Marvel with Perlman. Keep it up, Marvel.
Ms. Folsom
As previously mentioned, Folsom is the third writer brought on to Ragnarok. Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle already worked on the script together, most likely completing one draft. However, the screenplay process for Marvel films, and most films in general, is a long and changing one, meaning with each draft of the story comes a new writer to add or change existing plot points.
Production for the third Thor film seems to be on track, with filming set to begin in June 2016, and a director (Taika Waititi, What We Do In the Shadows) reportedly on board.
While this film originally wasnt one of our most anticipated MCU Phase Three films, recent reports of the film being a Thor and Hulk buddy film have made us giddy with excitement.
Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
