This week we have the return of a huntsman and a purge plus the first look at a new kind of movie.

The Huntsman: Winter’s War

The Huntsman: Winter’s War serves as both a prequel and a sequel to the 2012 film Snow White and the Huntsman. Before the evil Queen Ravenna was “killed” by Snow White, she watched as her sister, Freya, suffered a betrayal and left the kingdom. Freya had the ability to freeze any enemy and spent decades in a remote palace raising a legion of Huntsmen, including Eric, the huntsman.

After Freya learns Ravenna’s death, she orders her soldiers to bring the Magic Mirror to her. But once she resurrects Ravenna from the Mirror, the sisters threaten to plunge the land into darkness. It is up to Eric and the other huntsman to stop them and save the land.

The Huntsman: Winter’s War stars Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain, Sam Claflin, Colin Morgan, and Nick Frost and hits theaters April 22nd.

The Purge: Election Year

The Purge: Election Year is the third installment in the Purge series following 2014’s The Purge: Anarchy. Election Year centers around Senator Charlene Roan who as a child, was the only member of her family to survive the Purge. 13 years later she is running for President and vows to end the Purge. Her head of security is none other than Leo Barner (Sergeant from The Purge: Anarchy). On the night of what would be the final Purge, Roan is betrayed by opposing government forces and is thrown into the chaos in the streets with Barner. Now they have to fight for their lives if they want any hope of surviving the night.

The Purge: Election Year stars Frank Grillo, Elizabeth Mitchell, Mykelti Williamson, Edwin Hodge, and Kyle Secor and releases in theaters July 1st.

Hardcore Henry

Hardcore Henry is a first-person perspective action film, where the audience sees the entire movie through the eyes of Henry, the titular character. Henry is resurrected from the brink of death by his wife, Estelle, but remembers nothing about his past or her. Estelle is then kidnapped Akan, a powerful warlord with a plan for bio-engineering soldiers who hopes to use her as leverage to get to Henry. Although he does not know the extent of his powers, Henry learns quick and starts kicking major ass.

Hardcore Henry stars Sharlto Copley, Danila Kozlovsky, Haley Bennett, Andrei Dementiev, Darya Charusha, and Svetlana Ustinova and hits theaters April 8th.
